Getting promoted to a management position is exciting, but it can also feel like you’ve just stepped into a whole new world. Suddenly, you’re responsible for decisions that impact your team, your department, and your company’s bottom line. But, as Reynold Roberts reveals in HELP! I JUST GOT PROMOTED: Pitfalls of New Managers, this new chapter comes with challenges that many new leaders don’t expect.
We’ve all heard the phrase “with great power comes great responsibility,” but for a new manager, the responsibility can be overwhelming. In his practical and candid guide, Roberts helps new managers navigate the toughest aspects of the role. The book doesn’t just focus on the skills you need to succeed—it dives into the mistakes you might make and how to avoid them before they cost you valuable time or trust.
In HELP! I JUST GOT PROMOTED, Roberts highlights the ten most common pitfalls that many new managers fall into, such as acting too quickly, failing to build strong relationships with the team, or focusing too much on proving yourself. With each pitfall, Roberts shares strategies for overcoming them, from taking the time to understand your team’s strengths to learning the importance of patience. The key? Avoiding the “sink or swim” mentality and instead taking measured steps toward success.
The book doesn’t just focus on the mistakes—it gives you clear, actionable steps to overcome them. From understanding the financial side of management to building trust with your team, Roberts offers practical advice that you can apply immediately. He emphasizes that leadership is a journey, not a race.
What makes this book so relatable is how Roberts speaks directly to the new manager who’s feeling a bit lost or unsure. It’s easy to feel like you’re supposed to know everything, but Roberts assures you that it’s okay to ask questions, seek help, and take your time. Whether it’s learning how to handle team conflict or understanding your role in the company’s overall vision, HELP! I JUST GOT PROMOTED is your roadmap to success.
If you’ve just been promoted and are ready to hit the ground running, this book will make sure you don’t make the same rookie mistakes that many new managers do. Roberts’ down-to-earth advice will help you feel confident, capable, and ready to lead.
Don’t let the pressures of management catch you off guard. Grab your copy of HELP! I JUST GOT PROMOTED: Pitfalls of New Managers by Reynold Roberts today on Amazon and take the first step toward becoming the manager you’ve always wanted to be.
